"Who will help read old letters and diaries?" With this call, a ten-year initiative to volunteer at the Berlin Museum of Prehistory and Early History (Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte – MVF) began in 2014. In an article in the "Preußische Allgemeine Zeitung" on October 18 of that year, volunteers were sought who were willing to read and transcribe the countless documents from the Königsberg Prussia Archive written in German Kurrentschrift or Sütterlin. And indeed there were: With endless effort, meticulousness and diligence, the active people who came together at that time dedicated themselves to the immense task in the past years. On the following pages, we introduce the volunteers who, based on three questions, tell us something about themselves and their commitment to this initiative.
